If you want to try some of the research on your own, I suggest trying a search using the remarkable search facilities available through Ancestry.com.  Enter the information in the search box below and you will be able to search through 500 million records in the Ancestry.com database.  Some searches are free, others require a subscription.  Subscriptions are available for as little as about $5.00 per month.  This is a search resource that I have personally used a number of times and have been impressed with the results.

Try using the first (given) name and the last (surname).  These records span from early immigration records through Military history, newspaper and obituary sources.
